Appliqué Option

Easily creates appliqués from:

  • already digitized designs
  • lettering fonts
  • Explorations Cookie Cutters

Stitch types include:

  • satin stitch
  • e-stitch (buttonhole stitch)
  • no border outlines for creating 'no sew' appliques or hand applique patterns

Embroidery options:

  • trim in place – machine stops to allow trimming fabric in the hoop
  • pre-cut for intricate shapes
  • customize stitch width
  • customize how stitches cover the edge of the fabric

View & print:

  • see your fabric on-screen as an appliqué
  • print full-size pattern pieces
  • pattern pieces are numbered for correct placement

Buttonholes Option

Buttonholes are easy and fun when made on the embroidery machine:

Includes six buttonhole types:

  • standard
  • standard narrow
  • keyhole square
  • keyhole round
  • round
  • round end

Add buttonholes:

  • to designs
  • to articles and garments
  • take stitches out from under the buttonhole with the Remove Overlaps feature

Alignment tools:

  • arrange buttonholes in a line
  • space them evenly apart

Circle, Ring, Star Option

The Circle tool creates circles or ovals. The Ring tool creates open circles or ovals. Stitch types:

  • satin
  • tatami fill
  • split pattern fill

The Star tool creates a circular starburst or candlewick look.

Layout Wheel Option

Use Layout Wheel to transform designs in wonderful and creative ways:

  • duplicate and mirror an object with perfect alignment
  • horizontally
  • vertically
  • in combination
  • in wreaths
  • in kaleidoscopes
  • create corner designs
  • create monogram frames

Multi-Hooping Option

If you want to sew larger designs, you will love Multi Hooping:

  • splits Designs for you – it’s fast & easy!
  • automatically creates registration marks to perfectly align the design
  • allows hoop placement over the design
  • calculates the number of hoopings
  • shows you the order to embroider

Quilter Option

Design your own quilts quickly and easily:

  • lay out your quilt on-screen
  • choose from hundreds of built-in blocks

Add fabrics:

  • from the huge built-in Library
  • scan fabrics
  • import fabrics from websites

Print:

  • actual templates with seam allowances
  • a shopping list for fabric
  • your quilt layout

Add embroidery to your quilt:

Reshape Option

Edit:

  • the shape of an object
  • stitch angle(s)

  • change points from curved to straight and vice versa

Slow Redraw Option

Slow redraw includes Sequence by Select:

  • view the stitching sequence
  • preview on-screen the order in which your design will stitch
  • change the order in which objects will embroider

Special Effects

Includes these specialty stitches:

  1. See Through Fill moves walk stitches to the outside edge of a design, so they will not show through under a planned loose density fill or gradient fill.
  1. Uneven Edge gives you the ability to create a rough edge on one or both sides of a fill pattern. This is great for fur effects.
  1. Gradient Fill sews from a loose density to a fuller density. This is perfect for sunset effects. Try using two colors and reverse one of the fills to get a wonderful color blend.
  1. Angle Flow allows you to manipulate the angle of a fill to achieve curved and corner effects alone or in combination. Use Angle Flow to create waves in water and puffs in clouds.

Stipple Option

Stipple stitching is used to fill areas with meandering run stitches that look like free-motion quilting. Use with:

  • embroidery objects
  • appliqués
  • Cookie Cutters
  • quilt blocks

Color Wheel Option

Change a design’s colors with just a few clicks:

  • preview the color change on-screen
  • adjust for brightness
  • Explorations will then assign new thread colors instantly

BERNINA Machine Connection Option

If you have a BERNINA embroidery machine (artista 730, 200, 630, 640, 185-165, aurora 430, 435 440, BERNINA/bernette Deco 330, 340), this Option allows you to send designs directly from Explorations to your machine or USB Memory Stick. There is no charge for this option when ordered online or may already be installed on your dongle!

Professional Formats Option

Adds DST & EXP formats to the Save As function & to Filing Assistant. There is no charge for this option when ordered online or may already be installed on your dongle!
