This is a step-by-step pictorial guide to using the OESD Sizing Magician by Simon program. This program will allow you to resize, mirror and rotate only v2.0 .ART files, and then save them into other home-user formats. 

(NOTE:  This program can only open v2.0 ART files.  If you have newer ART files created as v3.0 or v4.0 ART files, you will need to contact the design maker and see if they offer a v2.0 form of their ART design.  There is no newer version of Sizing Magician by Simon.  The upgrade to Sizing Magician would be to purchase the OESD eXplorations program.  More info available on OESD eXplorations can be found  from http://www.embroideryonline.com)

The OESD Sizing Magician comes with the purchase of the Serial Magic Box/USB Magic Box/Mini Magic Box/Magic Box Plus/Mini Magic Box Plus along with the Digital Design Gallery CD. It can also be downloaded free of charge from the DOWNLOAD CENTER site.  Follow the installation instructions carefully.

The first step in using the software is to install it on your computer. This program will install on Windows 95, 98, NT, ME, 2000 and XP. Place the program disk into your CD-Rom drive, shiny side down, and close the drawer to initialize the installation. If the disk does not start up automatically, double-click My Computer, then your CD-Rom drive, and then double-click Setup. Accept the Licensing Agreement and the default location for the installation (normally C:\OESD Simon). Your computer will need to be restarted after the installation. Once the computer restarts, you will see the OESD Sizing Magician icon on your desktop:

Double-click the icon to open the program.  The program will open up on your screen. Click File, then Open to search for designs:

This will either bring up the default design location of C:\OESD Designs, or the last folder from which you successfully opened a design:

Click once on the name of a design to select it. If the Preview option is checked on the lower right, you will see a preview of the design on the right-hand side of the page:

Click the Open button to open your design in the OESD Sizing Magician program:

The design will then be displayed on the screen.
