by Tari Intardonato

Throw pillows can change the look of any room. Make an elegant decorative pillow that fits your room décor in no time at all.  This quick, easy, and inexpensive pillow showcases the elegant Whitework Monograms #12507 embroidery collection.

Supplies:

•  Whitework Monograms #12507
•  Isacord Thread #0015 White
•  Thread for construction and decorative stitch
•  OESD Ultra Clean and Tear Stabilizer
•  3 fat quarters
•  Pillow form – 12” x 16”

Cut:

•  12 ½” x 16 ½” for back fabric
•  7 ½” x 12 ½” printed fabric
•  11 ½” x 12 ½” solid fabric

Assemble:

•  Using a ¼” seam allowance, piece together printed fabric and solid fabric for pillow front.

•  Choose a light decorative stitch and stitch down seam line. Use a strip of OESD Ultra Clean and Tear stabilizer behind the seam line on the wrong side of fabric to stabilize decorative stitches.

Embroidery:

•  Using embroidery software or machine screen combine designs #12507-27 and (2) #12507-28 to fit into large hoop. You will need to rotate designs and mirror image one design of #12507-28.

•  Hoop two layers of OESD Ultra Clean and Tear stabilizer and pillow front fabric in large hoop.
•  Embroider pillow front using Isacord Thread color 0015.

Construction:

•  Remove embroidered pillow front from hoop.

•  Tear away excess stabilizer.

•  Press well.

•  Cut to 12 ½” x 16 ½”.

•  Place pillow front and pillow back together with right sides facing.

•  Stitch completely around pillow using a ¼” seam allowance. Leave a 5” opening on one side of pillow to insert pillow form.

•  Trim all four corners of pillow. Do not trim through seam allowance.

•  Turn pillow cover. Right sides should be on the outside.

•  Insert pillow form in the 5” opening.

•  Whipstitch opening closed.
